“Vida na muda” – life changes.
This is the motto of the new transport solution in Guinea-Bissau. And this is exactly what became visible last week: With the ceremonial opening of the first digital approval procedure, a new chapter in road safety in West Africa is starting – with technology from DKT.
A strong step towards the future
Together with Quipux Africa, DKT has implemented a forward-looking “one-stop-shop” system. It bundles everything to do with the vehicle: registration, technical test and driver’s license – digitally, securely, centrally. Guinea-Bissau is thus setting an example for the whole of West Africa.
What the new solution offers:
- New, forgery-proof license plates & third license plate (windshield tag)
- Digital vehicle and driver’s license registration with RFID chip cards
- Preparation for a regular technical vehicle inspection
- Establishment of a central, networked register by Quipux Bissau
A center for change
In the new two-storey Quipux Centre near the government district in Bissau, all the threads come together:
Downstairs, citizens register their vehicles, submit biometric data and receive their chip cards – upstairs, license plates are produced and administrative processes are controlled.
“This is the way forward.” – President Umaro Sissoco Embaló
At the opening ceremony at the Hotel Hala, a DKT representative personally presented the technology behind the new license plates to the president – with visible interest and positive feedback. Together, they mounted the first model license plate on the presidential limousine.
Transparency, trust, change – visible on posters throughout the country.
The accompanying campaign “Vida na muda” stands for what Guinea-Bissau is now embarking on: a new era of efficiency, security and closeness to its citizens.
Thank you for this partnership!
A big thank you to Ibrahima Kone, Patrik Agbo and the Quipux team – for the strong cooperation and mutual trust.
